Will My Fabric Fade?
All fabric and upholstery can fade over time. Dark coloured fabrics, especially dark blues and reds are more prone to fading in sunlight.
However, there are measures you can take to protect your item for longer.
We recommend lining your curtains to protect the face fabric from fading.
Areas such as the leading edge of a curtain tend to fade first as they are more exposed to sunlight. Where possible, swapping the curtains over from time to time to keep the fabric area exposed to sunlight at a minimum, will help to prolong the life of your curtains.
For bay or corner windows, where sunlight will fall directly on the face fabric when the curtains are open, we recommend the use of sunscreen blinds or UV window film.
Upholstered furniture and window seats can fade in sunlight, particularly in south facing rooms or where furniture is close to windows. Here, we recommend the use of sunscreen blinds or UV window film.

No. Curtains and blinds should never be washed as this may lead to shrinkage. Hand-made interlined curtains can only be dry cleaned by a curtain specialist. Dry cleaning can also cause shrinkage.
How Do You Clean And Remove Stains From An Oilcloth Fabric?
Wipe clean spillages with a clean damp cloth immediately to reduce the risk of staining. Some substances can penetrate the coating and cause a stain – these include curry, pesto, oil-based products, red wine etc.
In the event of staining, gentle wash at 30 degrees. Do not use fabric conditioner or bleach. Do not spin or tumble dry. Line dry only to lessen or remove the stain. Iron on reverse on medium heat.
Are Oilcloth Fabrics Washable?
